International Women’s Day Business Breakfast

Regional Business HQ together with Bundaberg & District Chamber of Commerce are proud to bring together the business community to celebrate International Women’s Day and this year’s theme, Embracing Equity. Each one of us can actively support and embrace equity within our own sphere of influence. We can all challenge gender stereotypes, call out discrimination, draw attention to bias, and seek out inclusion. Collective activism is what drives change. From grassroots action to wide-scale momentum, we can all embrace equity.  Forging gender equity isn’t limited to women solely fighting the good fight. Allies are incredibly important for the social, economic, cultural, and political advancement of women.

Hear from our three dynamic female leaders who will share their stories and what embracing equity means to them.

Kelly Chapman, Shared Services Manager, Trapeze Group, Modaxo Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, India

An experienced B2B Marketing Leader, Kelly has been lucky to work at the coal face of some incredibly innovative, fast moving, technology companies throughout her career.

Kelly is currently heading up a team of Marketers in a regional branch of Modaxo, a new, dedicated global organisation that brings together businesses from across Volaris Group that collectively focus on advancing new technologies and innovations for People Transportation. The company aims to help public transport operators and authorities, public safety organisations and large-scale taxi enterprises address everyday pain points, save money, and improve customer experience using proven technologies. Kelly is passionate about empowering, lifting up and celebrating women in her places of work and beyond and she can’t wait to connect with many of you for IWD2023.

Kelly’s also a member of the Hills Women’s Collective, a group of NW Brisbane women united by their desire to empower vulnerable women and families in our broader community and is a Be23Ready female ambassador at Westside Grovely for the FIFA Women’s World Cup this year.

Ingrid Barham, General Manager, Bundaberg Today

Ingrid is one of the founders of Bundaberg Today, the only significant provider of professional public interest journalism across the Bundaberg QLD region. She has held senior commercial roles with top tier news media organisations, advertising agencies and marketing departments. In 2022 Ingrid was awarded the prestigious President’s Award at the Bundaberg Regional Chambers of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.

Maria Ebert, General Manager, Your Online Legal

With the belief that ‘variety is the spice of life’, Maria Ebert has discovered a great satisfaction in seizing opportunities to create and develop something new or rework something old. Most commonly, her favourite projects centre around business creation, development or restructuring. Maria loves to tackle a good service program set up or makeover, along with moulding work spaces, systems and processes.

By far, the most rewarding use of her skills and experience is getting involved with community groups and programs where she can engage with people to collectively make a positive impact in her local community. Most recently, Maria is known around Bundaberg for her work at the Friendlies Foundation, pulling together the various events including the 2021 Gala Ball and the Charity Golf Day each year, as well as being active in Rotary.

With a cross section of experience across various sectors in public, private and not for profit organisations, along with the creation and development of her own small businesses she has a broad view of local business and community.

The event is proudly sponsored by nbn who are focused on lifting the digital capability of Australia, while embracing diversity, equity and inclusion amongst our people, in our workplace and in the community.
