Current grants, programs and support for small business and primary producers (April 2026)

Below is a quick snapshot of key grants and support programs currently available to small businesses, primary producers and tourism operators in Queensland. These are all external government or partner‑delivered programs; please check the official links for full eligibility, timelines and application details.

Grants and Funding

Exceptional Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants – North QLD Monsoon Trough & Cyclone Koji

Eligible primary producers and small businesses in declared LGAs can access grants of up to $75,000 for clean‑up, debris removal, fencing and equipment costs. Applications close 6 January 2027 or when funds are exhausted.

  • For primary producers:
    Eligible LGAs include: Barcaldine, Boulia, Burdekin, Bundaberg, Carpentaria, Cassowary Coast, Central Highlands, Cloncurry, Croydon, Diamantina, Etheridge, Flinders, Fraser Coast, Gympie, Isaac, Livingstone, Mackay, McKinlay, North Burnett, Richmond, South Burnett, Whitsunday, and Winton.
  • For small businesses:
    Eligible LGAs include: Aurukun, Bundaberg, Burdekin, Burke, Carpentaria, Cassowary Coast, Cloncurry, Croydon, Douglas, Etheridge, Flinders, Gladstone, Isaac, Mackay, McKinlay, Mount Isa, Palm Island, Pormpuraaw, Richmond, Townsville, Western Downs, Whitsunday, Winton, and Yarrabah.
Secure Communities Partnership Program – Round 2 (QLD)

Funding is available for small businesses and councils to install security upgrades such as CCTV, fencing, bollards and perimeter improvements. Applications close 30 June 2026 or when funds are exhausted.

Female Founders Co-Investment Fund (QLD)

Queensland-based women-founded and women-led innovative businesses can access matched funding of $50,000 to $200,000 for early-stage capital raises. The program remains open until funds are allocated.

Tourism Business Capability Subsidy (QLD)

Eligible tourism and event‑based businesses in Queensland can receive up to $2,000 in subsidy funding towards training and accreditation to grow business capability. Applications close 30 June 2026 or earlier if funding is fully allocated.

Small Business Apprenticeship Pilot Program (QLD)

Eligible small and family construction businesses can receive a wage subsidy for 1st/2nd‑year apprentices (50%) and 3rd/4th‑year apprentices (25%), based on training periods up to 32 weeks. Registrations remain open until the first 2,000 apprentices are enrolled.

Programs and Business Support

Growing Primary Care Resilience Program (Rockhampton, Livingstone, Bundaberg and Fraser Coast)

Primary care providers in Rockhampton, Livingstone, Bundaberg and Fraser Coast can access a free program to strengthen resilience to climate impacts and natural disasters. 

Community Resilience through Disaster Preparedness and Business Continuity Planning (Bundaberg and Gladstone)

Community organisations in Bundaberg and Gladstone regions can access support to strengthen bushfire preparedness and continuity planning. The program helps local groups improve resilience so critical services can keep operating when communities need them most.

Mentoring for Growth (QLD)

Eligible small businesses can access free guidance from volunteer business mentors, helping them address current challenges and explore new growth opportunities.

Rural Financial Counselling (Central QLD, Wide Bay/Burnett, South East QLD, Darling Downs and South West QLD)

Primary producers across Central Queensland, Wide Bay/Burnett, South East Queensland, Darling Downs and South West Queensland can access free, impartial and confidential financial counselling. The service helps farms experiencing or at risk of financial hardship with cash flow, debt, bills, loan repayments, drought, severe weather impacts and other financial challenges.

Business Wellness Coaching (South QLD)

Primary producers in Southern Queensland can access free and confidential emotional coaching and wellbeing support. The service helps with stress related to farming, business pressures, personal issues, relationships or health, and offers one-to-one support from qualified local wellbeing coaches.

NewAccess for Small Business Owners

Eligible small business owners and sole traders can access free, confidential mental health coaching to manage stress, worry and overwhelm, with the program currently available until 30 June 2027.
